This heavily peated single malt from Glenallachie takes ‘the heart of the heart’ of the distillate – the spirit cut which contains the highest phenol content. Deploying mainland peat and a lengthy fermentation period, the whisky boasts full-bodied character. The 2024 Release is a combination of five American virgin oak casks and four Oloroso hogsheads. The result is a multifaceted whisky with a powerful punch of peat, hitting a hefty 70 PPM. ‘The Turbo’ entails an amplified smoky identity.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a burnished copper-gold glow.
Nose
Smoked blood orange, cinnamon spice and manuka honey, with bursts of rich dark chocolate and roasted hazelnuts.
Palate
Leather, cigar box and baking spices open, followed by honey, toasted hazelnuts and dried red berries. Burnt orange peel and salted caramel weave through a bold peat core, finishing in a lingering smoky sweetness.
Finish
Long, smoke-woven finish with embers and burnt citrus oils. Dark chocolate, roasted hazelnuts and leather soften into cinnamon spice, while honeyed notes of salted caramel linger. A resinous oak tail preserves a gentle ash, leaving a warming, lasting peat echo.
