Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a copper-gold glow and rich mahogany undertones.
Nose
Sherry-rich nose with dark plum, fig and currant fruit, layered with toasted almond and vanilla oak. Zesty orange peel and ginger spice waft through, while cocoa and subtle malt sweetness deepen the scent, hinting at the cask strength depth within.
Palate
Powerful and warming, this cask-strength Glen Garioch unveils a lush sherry-driven palate. Dark fruit—plum, fig, raisin—warms with toasted oak, vanilla and spice from the hogshead, supported by a subtle nuttiness and cocoa. The high ABV lends a brisk, teeth-tingling edge, finishing long, dry and peppery with clove and oak.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish with a soft sherry sweetness over toasted malt. Dried fig, date and orange peel unfold, wrapped in ginger and cinnamon spice with a kiss of oak. A peppery, cask-strength fade recedes into a nutty cocoa note, inviting the next sip.
