Colour

Dark, honeyed amber with copper-gold highlights and a rich mahogany edge.

Nose

Subtle sherry sweetness mingles with generous oak, glazing the glass in polished timber. Ripe pear notes shimmer beside cinnamon, while eucalyptus honey adds resinous lift. A whisper of bubblegum lingers behind burnt sugar, keeping the aroma lively and luxurious for a venerable old malt.

Palate

Sherry lingers on the palate with a smoky, lightly peated edge. Charred oak frames walnut skin and liquorice, while toffee adds softness. Resinous tannins meet mustard seeds and bitter almond, delivering a long, dry finish.

Finish

Long, exquisitely dry and lightly herbal, the finish lingers with resinous oak and a whisper of spice, leaving a refined, contemplative glow.

Glen Elgin
(Glen-EL-gin) Glen Elgin is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery near Elgin in Moray, founded in 1898 by William Simpson, formerly manager at Glenfarclas, and James Carle. Production began in 1900, but the timing was difficult, as the Scotch whisky market was hit by the Pattison crash, and the distillery closed after only a few months. It later restarted under J.J. Blanche & Co before becoming part of Scottish Malt Distillers in 1930.
