Colour

Rich copper-amber with mahogany depths and bronze highlights.

Nose

Opulent sherry-forward nose: sun-dried figs and prunes, orange zest, and cherry notes weave with dark chocolate, toffee, and warming spices. Rich oak, leather and tobacco add depth, while malt sweetness and a whisper of smoke round out a warm, decadent Speyside bouquet.

Palate

Rich, full-bodied and waxy on the palate, this Craigellachie delivers dark fruit backed by sherry influence. Fig and raisin sweetness folds around velvety oak, with cocoa, orange zest and a ribbon of gentle spice. It coats the mouth with depth and a long, warming, slightly sweet finish.

Finish

An opulent, lasting finish that clings with dried fruit, fig and dark chocolate, folded in warm spice and toasted oak. Sherry sweetness lingers gracefully, evolving into marzipan and a whisper of smoke, leaving the palate velvety, satiated and ready for another slow, contemplative sip.

Craigellachie
(Craig-ELL-a-key) Craigellachie was built in 1890, with production beginning in 1891, and was designed by Charles Doig for a consortium led by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie. From the start it was closely tied to the White Horse blend, and that link shaped much of the distillery’s early history. Long known locally as the White Horse Distillery, Craigellachie later became part of Bacardi in 1998 through John Dewar & Sons.
