Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery mahogany undertones and a glossy, waxy honey-gold glow.
Nose
An intense, waxy aroma of beeswax and candle-wax mingles with briny sea spray and sun-warmed barley. Sherry maturity deepens the profile with dried fruits—raisins and fig—alongside toasted almonds and a warming spice of clove and cinnamon. Rich vanilla and toffee weave through the weighty, coastal core, while a hint of orange zest and green apple adds lift to the long, glossy bouquet.
Palate
On the palate, an oily, waxy mouthfeel coats the tongue at cask strength. Sherry influence brings dried fig, raisin and dark chocolate, intertwined with treacle and warming spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg. Coastal brine and orange zest thread through, adding lift. The finish is long and warming, with peppery bite and a lingering resinous sweetness.
Finish
Long, waxy and gently saline, the finish echoes the Highland coast. Sherry maturation deepens the texture, unfolding dark fruit, cocoa and spice before warm oak and ginger carry through the finale. The finish lingers with a refined sweetness and a satisfying, slightly drying resonance.
