Colour

Pale golden straw with a subtle amber glow.

Nose

Sweet vanilla and dry cured-meat aromas rise, with peat smoke running underneath. Banana and apricot add a bright fruit nuance, lifting the smoky, savory bouquet into a balanced, inviting aroma.

Palate

Ripe banana and kiwi rise on the palate, flanked by vibrant notes of fresh citrus for a bright, fruit-forward profile.

Finish

A long, sweet and smoky finish with vanilla warmth and soft peat, gradually giving way to citrus zest and lingering fruit sweetness.

Caol Ila
(kowel-EEL-ah) Caol Ila was founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson near Port Askaig on Islay’s east coast, overlooking the Sound of Islay between Islay and Jura. Its Gaelic name refers to that stretch of water, and the site was chosen with access to sea transport and a water supply from Loch nam Ban. Ownership changed early, passing to Norman Buchanan in 1854 and then to Bulloch Lade & Co in 1863.
