Limited release Caol Ila for the 2017 Feis Ile that is finished in Ex-Amoroso Sherry casks with only 1500 bottles released.
Natural cask strength at 55.8% ABV.
Reminded me a little of the Caol Ila Distillers edition releases which are finished in sweet moscatel casks but with the spice and earthy fruit turned to the max.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, burnished amber with mahogany depths and coppery highlights.
Nose
Freshly opened oysters laced with smoked lemon juice and a splash of Tabasco. Floral lavender soap notes drift with earthy blueberry and raisin, while smoked leather and sweet caramelised onion mingle with turmeric, finished by peppery coal-tar smoke.
Palate
Smoked oysters, fried onion and curry spices glide across a fat, oily palate, with peppery chili heat and roasted red pepper notes. Earthy dried fruit and blueberry provide backbone, as spice lingers into a long, warming finish.
Finish
Smoked paprika and turmeric spice the palate, peppery and subtly sweet, with hints of fruit cake and earthy leather, finishing dry.
