Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Aromas unfold in opulent layers: vanilla and almond from the bourbon casks mingle with rich sherry-dark fruits—prune, fig, raisin—draped in cocoa and toffee. Subtle spice, orange zest and polished oak lift the bouquet, while a saline sea-spray breeze and a whisper of peat lend coastal, sophisticated complexity.
Palate
Silky and full, this Bruichladdich marries sherry richness with bourbon oak. Deep dried-fruit notes—prune, fig, raisin—are braided with vanilla, almond and cocoa. Spices such as nutmeg and clove rise, while a maritime hint and subtle smoke provide balance. The palate carries a refined backbone of oak and fruit into a long, elegant finish, where warmth, leather and a touch of orange linger.
Finish
An expansive, long finish revealing vanilla-bourbon sweetness alongside rich sherry fruit—fig, cocoa and dried peel—balanced by maritime salt and a touch of smoke. The oak persists, weaving spice into a refined warmth that lingers gracefully.
