Lindores
(lin-DORES) Lindores Abbey Distillery began producing spirit in 2017 at a site in Fife that is widely recognised as the spiritual home of Scotch whisky. Its importance goes back much further than the modern distillery itself: the abbey was founded in 1191, and the earliest written reference to Scotch whisky appears in the Exchequer Roll of 1494, when Friar John Cor was commissioned by King James IV to turn eight bolls of malt into aqua vitae.
