Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with mahogany undertones and coppery highlights, a dusky chestnut glow reflecting sherry influence and mature oak.

Nose

Shortbread, chocolate and almond brittle rise in an inviting, softly sweet nose with a gentle, warming edge.

Palate

Charred pineapple, burnt sugar and butterscotch are lifted by fresh fruits, delivering a bright, expressive palate with a warm, lingering sweetness.

Finish

The finish lingers with bright fruitiness, evolving into playful jelly-bean fruit, and finally softening into warm oak spice.

Blair Athol
(blair-ATH-oll) Blair Athol was founded in 1798 by John Stewart and Robert Robertson in Pitlochry, originally opening as Aldour after the Allt Dour burn. The early distillery closed soon after, before reopening in 1825 under the Blair Athol name. It later passed through several owners, including Peter Mackenzie, before Arthur Bell & Sons acquired the distillery in 1933.
