Built in 1798, south of the Cairngorms is one of Scotland’s most visited distilleries – Blair Athol. The spirit from this traditional distillery is celebrated for its full-bodied character. Developing sweetness from Bourbon casks, this hearty Highlander was further matured for twenty months in freshly emptied Oloroso Sherry casks, gently progressing its opulent character.
Rich aromas of caramel, almonds and sweet popcorn intertwine on the nose. The richness continues on the palate, with baking spices, rich malt and oaky vanilla. The finish is long yet satisfying, with dried fruits and gentle oakiness.
