Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Aromas of velvety Oloroso sherry envelop ripe raisin and fig, mingling with toffee, dark chocolate and a hint of orange zest. Almonds, vanilla and baking spice weave through polished oak, adding depth to a warm, nutty, subtly luxurious aroma.
Palate
Silky and richly layered, it presents fig and prune with candied orange, toasted almond and a sheen of molasses. Oloroso sherry lends warmth through dark chocolate, espresso and spice, while vanilla and oak keep it poised. Full, creamy mouthfeel gives way to a long, warming finish of dried fruit, gentle sweetness and renewed hints of spice.
Finish
A long, refined finish carried by Oloroso influence: raisined fruit, burnt-sugar toffee, orange zest and toasted almond mingle with velvety oak, then drift into spice with a final kiss of bitter chocolate.
