This 13 year old classic Speyside single malt from Benrinnes was finished in a 1st Fill Amontillado Sherry. Only 360 bottles were taken from this outstanding cask. Released at cask strength, non-chill filtered and entirely natural in colour.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a warm coppery glow.

Nose

Spice, caramel and dried fruits form an enticing prelude, framed by a first-fill Amontillado sherry. Nutty hints mingle with warm oak, yielding a vinous, sherry-kissed bouquet that promises depth.

Palate

On the palate, the meaty Benrinnes is lifted by pepper, caramel, burnt orange and leather.

Finish

Oak-aged dark chocolate, bright orange zest and lively sherry-spice linger, winding into a warm, spice-kissed finish.

Benrinnes
(ben-RIN-is) Benrinnes was first established in 1826 by Peter MacKenzie at Whitehouse Farm near Aberlour, on the lower slopes of Ben Rinnes. The original distillery was destroyed by flooding in 1829, with a new site later developed nearby. After early ownership changes, David Edward took over in 1864, and the distillery was sold to John Dewar & Sons in 1922 before becoming part of DCL three years later. It is now owned by Diageo.
