Distilled on 29 August 2011 and bottled on 27 July 2021 at 60.9% ABV, this 9-year-old Benrinnes was released by Fable Whisky as part of the illustrated Fable Series – Bay Chapter 4, which tells the story of The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay. The whisky was drawn from a single hogshead (cask #309355) and yielded 291 bottles.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with honey-gold depth and a coppery glow.
Nose
Bitter tangerine peel with dark chocolate and cold brew coffee, lifted by yeast and a hint of tart white wine. Pencil shavings and toasted oak contribute a warm cinnamon-spice undercurrent.
Palate
Bitter tangerine peel meets dark chocolate and cold brew coffee, edged by yeast and a hint of tart white wine. Pencil shavings, toasted oak and cinnamon spice linger on the back. With water added, it becomes slightly creamy, lemon curd and lemon barley sweetness emerging.
Finish
Chalk, liquorice, vanilla, lemon candy, pineapple and pear linger, with a subtle note of spiced oak in the back. The finish is medium-short, creamy and soft, with a touch of stemmed ginger.
