Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany undertone.
Nose
Opulent and restrained, this nose unfolds with dried plum, fig and orange zest, layered with dark chocolate and toffee. Sherry-softened oak brings cedar, leather and nutmeg, touched by vanilla and a whisper of spice. Time-worn elegance from a silent distillery, inviting a slow, contemplative inhale.
Palate
Silky, richly sherried on the palate: raisin and fig sweetness, singed orange zest, toffee, and dark chocolate. Spiced notes of cinnamon and clove drift through toasted oak; a velvety mouthfeel carries a warm, lingering finish of leather and espresso. Complex, refined, and remarkably well integrated for a 37-year-old final bottling.
Finish
Lingers with generous sherry sweetness, tracing figs and dark raisin across polished oak, unfurling warm spice and a whisper of cacao. Velvety in texture, it tapers to a long, refined glow, leaving a subtle tingle of orange zest and cedar that invites contemplation.
