Colour

Deep amber with copper highlights and a honey-gold glow.

Nose

Inviting sherry-laden nose with dried fig, raisin, and plum, wrapped in toffee and orange peel. Vanilla-tinged oak, almond, and a touch of cocoa mingle with warm spice—cinnamon and clove—creating a luxurious, fruit-forward bouquet.

Palate

Silky and richly sherried on the palate, this eight-year-old Bell’s offers raisin and fig over dried fruit sweetness, layered with toffee, cocoa and toasted almond. Velvet oak carries gentle spice—cinnamon and nutmeg—supported by vanilla, finishing warm and long with a subtle cocoa-nut complexity.

Finish

Long, warm finish with sherried sweetness fading into toasted oak. Dried fig and almond echo, followed by cocoa and soft spice; a velvety, lingering warmth that dries to refined oak and a touch of tobacco.

Bell’s traces its roots to Arthur Bell, a Perth wine and spirits merchant who began vatting malt whiskies together in 1851 to create a more consistent blended Scotch. The “Extra Special” trademark was registered in 1895 and later appeared with the Bell’s name in 1904, becoming the basis of the long-running Bell’s blend. Blair Athol, founded in 1798, became closely tied to the brand after Arthur Bell & Sons acquired the distillery in 1933.
