Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery shimmer and a warm, antique-gold glow.

Nose

Raisin and dried fig dominate, unfolding into creamy vanilla, toffee and dark chocolate. Toasted oak and gentle spices lend warmth, while orange zest and almond add brightness to a refined, sherry-touched bouquet.

Palate

Silky and balanced, it coats the palate with honeyed toffee, dried fig and raisin, brightened by orange zest. Sherry-tinged richness intertwines with toasted oak, cinnamon and nutmeg, while a creamy vanilla undertone lingers into a long, warming finish.

Finish

Silky, long finish with warm spice and gentle sweetness. Dried fruit, almond and cocoa echo on the palate, supported by velvet oak. A soft sherry-inflected linger fades to a refined, comforting warmth that recalls the decanter’s regal celebration.

Bell’s traces its roots to Arthur Bell, a Perth wine and spirits merchant who began vatting malt whiskies together in 1851 to create a more consistent blended Scotch. The “Extra Special” trademark was registered in 1895 and later appeared with the Bell’s name in 1904, becoming the basis of the long-running Bell’s blend. Blair Athol, founded in 1798, became closely tied to the brand after Arthur Bell & Sons acquired the distillery in 1933.
