Colour

Golden amber with a warm honey glow and a whisper of copper.

Nose

Raisined fig and orange zest lift a malt-forward bouquet, knit with walnut, toffee and a whisper of leather. Sherry warmth coats the fruit and spice—cinnamon, clove—settling over toasted oak with a faint maritime note for a refined, lingering nose.

Palate

Silky, refined Banff malt with delicate orchard fruits (pear and apple), soft vanilla and a touch of toasted oak. Subtle almond notes emerge, framed by gentle spice; a light sweetness lingers, leaving the palate clean and long.

Finish

Silky, enduring finish with warm malt and honeyed oak, then gentle spice. A final whisper of dried fruit and a touch of nuttiness lingers, leaving a refined, contemplative afterglow.

Banff (silent)
Banff was founded in 1824 by James McKilligan & Co. on the Moray coast, originally operating as Mill of Banff before the name became associated with the later Inverboyndie site. James Simpson Jr. built the new distillery in 1863, choosing a position with better access to the Great North of Scotland Railway and water from springs at Fiskaidly Farm. Banff was rebuilt after a major fire in 1877 and later came under Distillers Company Limited ownership in the early 1930s.
