Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with radiant honeyed warmth and a coppery glow.

Nose

Rich honeyed vanilla and caramel frame a rum-kissed aroma, with dried tropical fruits, sultanas, and ripe banana, resting on toasted oak. Warm spice—cinnamon and nutmeg—laces the profile, adding depth and elegance.

Palate

Silky, full-bodied on the palate, with honeyed, tropical-fruit sweetness tempered by warm rum notes. Creamy vanilla, toffee and dried apricot mingle with orange zest, cinnamon and nutmeg, all carried by a velvety oak backbone. The mouthfeel is luscious and slightly waxy, finishing with a long, spiced caramel glow.

Finish

Long, velvety finish infused with warm rum-spice and vanilla, as caramel and toffee weave with dried fruit and tropical notes. Oak support is subtle, leaving a soft, lingering warmth that invites another sip.

(bal-VENN-ee) Founded in 1889 by William Grant, Balvenie is located next to the giant Glenfiddich distillery on the outskirts of Dufftown in Speyside. The distillery employs traditional whisky making methods, being one of the few to retain its original floor maltings and on site cooperage. The Balvenie single malt is typically rich, luxuriously smooth, and has a distinctive honeyed character.
