A limited edition bottling from only 34 casks and using a slightly different, darker type of Barley to create rich malty and oaky notes . Worth picking up now if you a Balvenie fan as these special editions quickly disappear, sometimes never to return which is a shame as this is one of the most distinctly different expressions to be released by the distillery. If you enjoyed the Glenmorangie signet made from heavily roasted chocolate malt this will also ticke your tastebuds for something a bit darker and almost stout like in its flavour profile.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany-tinged rim; a warm bronze-gold glow.
Nose
Roasted malt takes the lead, releasing dark chocolate, espresso and toasted barley aromas. A lush caramel/toffee sweetness follows, tempered by rich oak and subtle sherry notes, with hints of dried dark fruit adding depth.
Palate
Rich and full-bodied, the palate is laden with roasted malt, dark chocolate, and toffee, flowing into velvety vanilla and dried fruit. Subtle espresso and charred oak lend complexity, while spices linger beneath. The finish is long and warming, with roasted barley, burnt sugar, and a refined oak smoke that persists.
Finish
Long, velvety finish: roasted malt and dark chocolate give way to warm oak and spice. Espresso, dried fruit and a cocoa-kissed depth linger, with a creamy, lingering warmth that fades slowly.
