Only 94 casks of this were ever produced and although they do now make a Peated cask, this is the real deal, so expect this to become much more in demand over the coming years. Stop Press Balvenie have now discontinued their Peated cask also.

Subtly peated, this Balvenie unveils a refined peat smoke, threaded with sea-salt brine and iodine. Beneath, warm honeyed vanilla, toasted barley, and orchard fruit rise with a delicate sherry-like sweetness, while oak spices linger. A poised, maritime nose that hints at Islay cask influence without heaviness.
Palate
Silky, mouth-coating and subtly peated, this Balvenie layers honeyed malt with vanilla, toffee and ripe orchard fruit. Sea-salt and iodine lift the mid-palate, carried by a gentle Islay smoke. Warm spice and oak emerge toward a long, refined finish, leaving a creamy, smoky sweetness that lingers.
Finish
A long, smoky finish with coastal peat and sea-salt notes, balanced by Balvenie’s honeyed sweetness. Vanilla, citrus rind and gentle oak spice linger, tapering to a warm, caramel-soft echo that keeps the peat hovering in the afterglow.
