Balvenie 2 Degrees Over Proof Whisky 1965 Vintage
Out of stock
2.0 o Over Proof Balvenie bottled by Robert Watson of Aberdeen. One of the very very few independently bottled Balvenie's ever produced. I will quote from the label of this 1965 distilled rariety 'This bottle has been filled direct from the cask after maturation in wood since November 65'.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a mahogany edge, a warm, sun-bronzed glow.
Nose
Opulent, time-worn Balvenie aroma: dark oak and cedar underpin a rich sherry sweetness, with fig and raisin, orange peel and toffee. Honeyed malt entwines with spice and cocoa, finished by a whisper of polished wood and antique cabinet notes—an elegant, cask-aged bouquet.
Palate
Opulent and concentrated, this 58% Balvenie overproof unfurls with sherried depth: fig and raisin mingle with orange zest, honeyed toffee and dark chocolate. The velvety, oil-rich mouthfeel carries warming spice—cinnamon and nutmeg—into a long finish of oak, leather and dried fruit.
Finish
Long, luxuriously warming finish that clings with sherry-rich sweetness and Balvenie’s honeyed depth. Dried fig and raisin persist, threaded with spice, toasted oak and a whisper of cocoa, fading to a refined, oak-drawn dryness that lingers with elegant persistence.
