One of the oldest distilleries in Speyside, Balmenach creates its single malt whisky in the most traditional of styles. With a long fermentation and quick distillation, this spirit is ideal for slow ageing, perfectly suited to the environment created within the thick walls of Coleburn Distillery.
This is a single malt for the purist. Having softly and slowly developed in a single refill bourbon cask for its entire maturation, Murray Mcdavid is showcasing the delicate nature of this classy malt as it gently gains age and sophistication.

Sweet malt and honey rise from the glass, with bright notes of stone fruits—peach and apricot—lending a warm, softly fruity aroma.

Fresh pear and melon mingle on the palate, carried by a light, spicy oak that adds gentle warmth and structure. A delicate sweetness lingers with subtle fruit brightness.
Finish
Dried pineapple and crushed almonds linger, leaving a refined, nutty sweetness that softly coats the palate.
