Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, luminous amber with copper-tinged edges and a whisper of mahogany, a warm, sherry-kissed glow.
Nose
Rich fruitcake and malt loaf blend with brown butter and dark honey, while baked figs, treacle and ginger flapjacks drift through the aroma. Black forest fruits rise with hints of wet leather and pipe smoke, balanced by cinnamon, clove and coffee fondant.
Palate
Big, malty mid-palate with a buttery honey and treacle sweetness reminiscent of flapjacks, drying into earthy, bark-like brambly forest fruit and blackcurrant cordial. Nutty sherry wood tannins frame sweet, aromatic oak.
Finish
Brandysnaps, ginger, treacle, dark honey and ripe figs, with cake spices, drying Sherry wood and toasted raisin.
