Ardnamurchan AD/Mezcal Cask Release, a remarkable new expression for 2025 that offers a unique and adventurous flavour experience. This peated whisky, with a peat level of 30ppm, began its journey in bourbon barrels in 2017 before spending its final 20 months maturing in ex-Mezcal casks.
Bottled at a robust 55% ABV, this limited release of 20 casks produced 4,968 bottles. The resulting whisky boasts rich coastal and heathery peat smoke notes, beautifully balanced by the saline and earthy undertones imparted by the Mezcal casks.

Colour
Deep amber with golden-copper highlights and a sun-kissed, honey-tinged hue.
Nose
Sea-salted aromatics surge with coastal peat smoke and heathery notes. A mineral brine grounds the fragrance, while Mezcal cask influence introduces earthy, smoky undertones—subtle roasted agave and a soft, sun-warmed spice that lingers.
Palate
A powerful, saline palate of coastal peat, braided with mezcal-earthiness and subtle agave sweetness. Peat remains front and center, warmed by 55% ABV; mezcal cask adds mineral char, smoked lime, and sea-salt. The finish lingers with ash, pepper, and tidal smoke.
Finish
An enduring coastal finish that lingers with saline breeze and ember-soft peat. Mezcal cask influence threads through the aftertaste—earthy agave, smoky peppers, and mineral notes, tempered by sun-warmed wood and a subtle sweetness, fading to a warm, peppery glow.
