Ardmore Chieftain's Single Cask #94091 Whisky 15 Year Old · 2002 Vintage
Out of stock
A single cask release from Ian Macleod (own the Glengoyne & Tamdhu distilleries) under the Chieftain's range of independent bottlings from another of those under the radar distilleries that deserves much more attention.
Ardmore is one of the few Highland single malts to be peated and with most of it going into the Teacher's blends there are only a few distillery releases.
Only 519 bottles of this Madeira cask finished Ardmore released.
A aromatic sweet and savoury Ardmore that displays both distillery character and Madeira cask finish flavours in perfect harmony.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, rich amber with a copper-gold sheen and subtle mahogany undertones.
Nose
Strawberry shortbread with aromatic cherry wood smoke, rum and raisin fudge, subtle earthy notes, charred lemon and pineapple with some cinnamon spice.
Palate
On the palate it unfolds like maltloaf brushed with aromatic runny honey, studded with rum-soaked raisins and treacle-cured smoked ham. Fruity liquorice threads through earthy, cinnamon-spice dryness, delivering a fat, buttery body with peppery oak and a lasting, sweet smoke.
Finish
Smoked red berries and aged balsamic mingle with malted treacle and fruity liquorice, cut by peppery heat. Earthy peat smoke lingers, paired with a savoury baked-ham hint, leaving a balanced warmth and a final kiss of spice and smoke on the palate.
