Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery-gold highlights and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Razor-peat smoke entwines with iodine and sea-salt, lifted by rich sherry warmth. Dried fig and raisin mingle with dark chocolate, espresso and burnt sugar, while wisps of leather and kelp drift through. A bold Islay bouquet that promises depth, intensity and a lingering, toasty warmth behind the smoke.
Palate
Big, oily mouthfeel delivers a torrent of peat smoke layered with rich sherry sweetness. Dark cocoa, fig and dried cherry mingle with espresso and a hint of spice, while the 59.9% ABV lends a warming, lasting heat. A long, resinous finish of lacquered oak, smoked almond and persistent peat.
Finish
An enduring dance of smoke and sweetness. The peat releases maritime, caressing smoke that tightens into a deep sherry-tinged warmth, echoing long after the swallow. Rich dark fruit, vanilla and cocoa drift through a saline, mineral spine as the finish stretches slowly, leaving a velvety oiliness and a final whisper of ash, spice, and coastal wind that lingers with warmth.
