Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a warm copper glow.
Nose
Dense peat smoke and medicinal iodine wash over a salty seam of sea air. Beneath, bright citrus zest and vanilla shimmer, while sherry-laden notes bring dark fig, raisin and cocoa. A briny mineral core threads through the tapestry, finishing with warm toffee and toasted almond—an opulent, lingering aroma that speaks to Islay's seductive, smoky depth.
Palate
Velvety palate with bold peat smoke layered over sherry fruit. Rich fig, raisin and cocoa mingle with iodine and sea-salt, while vanilla and spice lend warmth. Full-bodied and refined, the effect persists into a long, smoke-laden finish with dark chocolate and orange zest.
Finish
The finish stretches gracefully, a ribbon of smoky peat that lingers with maritime salt and iodine. It wisps into vanilla and cocoa from the cask, then slowly fades to warm oak spice, leaving a dry, resinous wake that invites another sip.
