In stock
Ardbeg Galileo was bottled to celebrate Galileo Galilei, the very famous Italian astronomer and pays homage to Ardbegs involvement with Whisky space project this year. This particular Ardbeg expression has been matured in Ex- Marsala wine casks from Sicily, balanced with first fill ex bourbon casks and bottled at 49% and is of course a limited edition which immediately sold out upon release.
Featured in Ian Buxton's 101 Legendary whiskies you're dying to try but (possibly) never will book.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Dark amber with coppery highlights and a warm, reddish-gold glow.
Nose
Coastal peat and sea spray rise, woven with Marsala-driven warmth: dried fig, raisin and date mingle with vanilla, toffee and subtle sherry spice. A bright orange zest lift and a whisper of iodine join the smoke, threaded by polished oak and a clean bourbon sweetness that keeps the aroma refined and inviting.
Palate
On the palate, Galileo delivers a bold peat-driven core framed by Marsala-wine sweetness. Dried fig, raisin and prune unfold with vanilla, toffee and toasted oak from the bourbon casks. Spice and sea-salt lend definition, while a light cacao note threads through. The finish is long, smoky and maritime, with dark fruit, and a warming, balanced sweetness that lingers.
Finish
Long, warming finish where peat smoke and maritime echoes fade into a rich Marsala sweetness. Dried fig, cocoa and orange zest linger, with a whisper of spice and sea-salt that keeps the palate alive as the smoke slowly recedes.
