Since commencing production in November 2014, Annandale Distillery have adopted a ‘wood policy’ that aims to deliver both diversity of flavour along with the opportunity to mature Single Malts for relatively short or long periods of time, and everything in between. This particular bottling was laid down in 2017 in a single STR ex-Burgundy cask, developing into a delightfully smooth and mellow Single Malt.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery edges and a warm, wine-kissed ruby glow.
Nose
Juicy red fruits—strawberry, cherry and a hint of plum—rise from the glass, fed by ex-Burgundy cask influence. Vanilla and almond weave through warm oak, while a touch of spice—cinnamon and clove—lends refined, fruity aroma and inviting depth.
Palate
Silky on the palate, red-fruit notes of cherry and raspberry mingle with vanilla, caramel and toasted oak. A gentle spice of cinnamon, clove and ginger warms the mouth. The STR ex-Burgundy cask adds wine-softness and subtle tannins, finishing smooth with lingering fruit and a refined oak glow.
Finish
An enduring, warm finish that lingers with red-berry fruit, vanilla sweetness, and a hint of wine-like spice, fading to soft malt and gentle oak.
