St Drostan's Well, found in the grounds of the Aberlour Distillery, marked the source of an exceptionally pure spring. Indeed, we use the same water today to produce our outstanding whisky. The name Aberlour comes from the Gaelic of 'Mouth of the Chattering Burn'
Douglas Cruickshank, our Master Distiller, has selected the best casks laid down in 1993. This is the way whisky was produced in the 19th century at Aberlour where production was bottled according to seasons or a specific year.
The Aberlour 1993 Single Malt whisky has been produced from a selection of both the finest Sherry casks and Traditional Oak casks that have quietly matured to perfection.
