Aberfeldy Flora & Fauna Cask Strength 1st Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky 17 Year Old · 1980 Vintage
Out of stock
Flora and Fauna, nicknamed by the late whisky writer, Michael Jackson, was a themed series of distillery only single malt whisky releases. Each distillery was given a particular creature as its symbol, which is elegantly displayed on each bottle's beautiful label.
Gradually as distilleries were commercialised, closed or sold, the range of Flora and Fauna contracted, leaving these select remaining bottles collectable. Most often blended, whisky from each of these distilleries is rarely bottled as single malt, making each bottle from this collection even more rare.
Only a select few of the Flora & Fauna range were bottled at cask strength.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep coppery amber with warm, honey-gold highlights.
Nose
Rich sherry-kissed aromas rise in waves: dried plum and fig, orange marmalade, honeyed apples, and vanilla cream, all woven with almond, toffee, and a touch of toasted oak. A bright citrus zest threads through, while cinnamon-clove spice lingers in the background.
Palate
Opulent and warming, the palate unfolds with honeyed orchard fruit, toffee and dried fruit. Rich sherry influence carries vanilla, almond and warm spices—cinnamon and nutmeg—underpinning velvety oak for a long, creamy finish with lingering sweetness and spice.
Finish
An opulent, long finish of warming spice, honeyed sweetness and rich dried fruit, with toasted oak lingering in the background. Dried fig and orange zest unfold, fading to a hint of chocolate and gentle barley sweetness, leaving a velvet, resinous glow.
