Cask Strength Single Cask

Bottled by North Star Spirits for the UK as part of the 10 Year Birthday Bottling series, this 2014 Aberfeldy was released at 12 years old. Matured in a bourbon barrel and bottled at 52.8% ABV, the cask yielded 320 bottles.

A bourbon barrel is a good fit for Aberfeldy, bringing vanilla, honey and orchard fruit to the fore while supporting the distillery’s naturally rounded Highland style. The result is a clean, balanced whisky with sweetness, gentle spice and enough structure from the cask to keep it well defined.

Aberfeldy
(aber-FELL-dee) Aberfeldy was built by John Dewar & Sons in 1896 and remains the only distillery constructed by the Dewar family. Set just outside the town of Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire, it was positioned beside the Pitilie Burn, whose water still feeds the distillery today. Its history also includes a two-year closure from 1917 during the First World War, and a major expansion in 1973 when two new stills were added to double capacity. Aberfeldy later passed into Bacardi’s ownership in 1998 as part of John Dewar & Sons.
