Bottled by North Star Spirits for the UK as part of the 10 Year Birthday Bottling series, this 2015 Bowmore was released at 11 years old. Matured in a bourbon barrel before a 6-week finish in three Pedro Ximénez octaves, it was bottled at 56.1% ABV with an outturn of 180 bottles.
The bourbon cask keeps Bowmore’s coastal character clear, while the short PX octave finish adds an extra layer of dark sweetness, dried fruit and spice. That combination works particularly well with Bowmore’s smoky style, giving the whisky a richer edge without losing its maritime profile.
