A delicious Bowmore as part of the Elements of Islay series, and also one of the lesser featured distilleries in the range. Grab this quick! This multi-layered Bowmore is a vatting of whiskies distilled between 2001 and 2003. Left to age in ex- bourbon barrels and ex-sherry butts for sixteen to eighteen years, it showcases its classic true-Islay character through a window of tropical fruits and coastal freshness. 1320 bottles have been produced.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with warm copper highlights and a whisper of mahogany at the rim.

Nose

Grapefruit mingles with brown sugar, a hint of charcoal smoke. Baked lemons rise into tropical notes of under-ripe mango, drizzled with lime juice.

Palate

Old-fashioned chocolate limes open the palate, with citrus and sea-salt weaving through. Papaya and kiwi lend tropical brightness, while buttered samphire adds a coastal, saline lift that lingers.

Finish

A dry, herbaceous finish lingers with wave after wave of kiln smoke.
