Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep golden amber with a warm honey glow and a subtle coppery sheen.
Nose
Powerful maritime nose of peat smoke, sea spray and iodine, lifted by lemon zest and orange peel. Creamy vanilla and honeyed toffee from the refill bourbon cask mingle with toasted oak, a whisper of almond and spice. Coastal Bowmore—smoky, subtly sweet, with a layered, lingering finish.
Palate
Coiled peat and coastal brine announce the palate, with iodine-kissed sea-salt and citrus zest riding a backbone of bourbon vanilla. Rich caramel and toasted oak unfold, while apple and dried fruit glimmer beneath. The mouthfeel is full and velvety, finishing long with smoky ash, peppery spice, and a lingering coastal echo.
Finish
Long, maritime and smoky, the finish coats the palate with sea-salt, vanilla and citrus zest, then lingers in a warm peat glow, slowly fading to a resinous, softly drying aftertaste.
