Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with a coppery glow and mahogany undertones.

Nose

Big, wooded aroma of autumn leaf mulch, with dark chocolate and black cherry intertwined by glowing wood embers. Peat smoke returns, giving a maritime edge and treacly phenols. Blackberry and hawthorn jam mingle with rosehip syrup, a hint of meatiness, and a complex, wood-driven richness that speaks to Bowmore’s bold, aged evolution.

Palate

Rich, thick and liquorous, with mature wood and a continuous thread of smoke. Leather notes appear, followed by a back-palate grip, soot and the familiar mixed fruits from the nose. Water softens at first, then acidity and tannin rise, nudging balance. Wood deepens with evolution, yielding a bold, smoky, wood-forward finish.

Finish

Ashes linger as fresh blackberry and hawthorn fruit tease through, then more wood and ash re-emerge in a smoky, charred finish that lingers with wine-barrel resolve.
