Williamson Chapter 7 Single Cask #907 Whisky 9 Year Old · 2010 Vintage
In stock
Williamson is a tea-spooned malt. But what is tea-spooning? Sometimes distilleries don't want their brand names an independent bottler's label. So, they add a teaspoon of malt whisky from another distillery and make the whisky a 'blend'. That way, the independent bottler can't use their trademark. In the whisky trade, tea-spooned malts have distinct names like 'Williamson'. People know where the whisky is from, they can't put the name on the bottle.
Having always wanted to bottle a Williamson cask, Chapter 7 are thrilled with this one. This is a powerful whisky that reflects the unedited character of Laphroaig distillery.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Radiant amber with copper-toned edges and a warm tawny glow.
Nose
Intense peat smoke with coastal iodine and medicinal notes; sea salt and brine mingle with tar and ash. Beneath, vanilla, toasted barley and sherry-supported dark fruit weave a lacquered, maritime sweetness that hints at depth and warmth.
Palate
Powerful peat and medicinal notes drive the palate, with iodine and briny sea-salt edges and a mineral backbone. Sherry-cask influence brings dark fruit—prune, raisin—and a touch of cocoa and toasted almond. A peppery, chili-like burn from 53.9% ABV lingers, delivering a long, warming finish that coats the tongue with smoky sweetness and oak.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with bold peat and sea-salt notes that linger. Sherry-derived sweetness coats dried fruits, cocoa and toasted oak, fading to a warming, resinous glow on the palate.
