West Midlands Distillery Siblings Peated & Unpeated English Single Malt Whisky Bundle
In stock
This limited-edition West Midlands Distillery Siblings Bundle brings together the two contrasting whiskies created to explore how closely related casks can develop very different personalities. Named after the distillery’s brother-and-sister founders, both expressions began with matching first-fill ex-Oz Tyler bourbon casks, recoupered to approximately 100 litres to increase the interaction between spirit and oak. From there, each cask was treated differently, creating a pair designed to be tasted side by side.
The Siblings Un-peated expression, bottled at 51.1% ABV, allows the distillery’s fruit, sweetness and spice to come through clearly, with the first-fill bourbon cask taking centre stage. Just 110 bottles were produced. Its Peated sibling, bottled at 52.1% ABV, was created using an unusual method in which the oak cask itself was peat-smoked before filling rather than using peated barley. This gives the whisky a clean, approachable smokiness while retaining the underlying bourbon-cask sweetness, with only 123 bottles released.
Together, the pair offers a fascinating look at cask influence and experimentation at West Midlands Distillery, with two whiskies sharing the same starting point yet arriving at dramatically different results. Presented together, this is an especially appealing set for collectors and anyone interested in the way wood, smoke and maturation can shape English single malt whisky.
