A sublime 50 year old single malt from an un-named Speyside distillery, bottled by TBWC. Just 604 bottles were produced from this first batch.
Big, rich and dark aromas of rancio, molasses, dark chocolate cake, oily tar and leather. The palate is complex, layered and mouth filling with treacle, chocolate,plus and a slight slight savoury note amidst all that. The finish is very long with cherry, plum and a drying oak.
Sensational whisky and easily one of the most affordable ways of trying a half century old whisky!!

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany richness and a coppery, caramel-bronze glow.
Nose
Opulent, mature bouquet of rancio, molasses and dark chocolate cake, laced with oily tar and leather. Rich and confident, it hints at age-old casks and refined depth, inviting a slow, velvety lift as the glass warms.
Palate
A complex, layered palate that coats the mouth with treacle and dark chocolate, tempered by a subtle savoury depth. Rich and mouth-filling, it unfolds with quiet, refined intensity.
Finish
Very long finish where cherry and plum linger, supported by a drying oak that threads through the palate. Subtle treacle and dark chocolate leave an elegant, resinous warmth, fading slowly into a restrained tannic finale.
