Toki Black is an elevated, more premium expression of the original Toki. It distinguishes itself by using Hakushu single grain whisky in place of the Chita grain found in other House of Suntory offerings. Additionally, it incorporates Hakushu peated malt instead of the lighter peated style. These changes create a blend with a notably smokier character.

Nose
Smoky, herbal, and bright, this nose opens with charred barley and toasted grain, then folds in vanilla and honey. Fresh pear and green apple mingle with Hakushu’s herbal notes and a whisper of menthol, while subtle peat smoke and cedar-tinged oak deepen the aroma. A refined ember lingers, announcing the whisky’s smoky richness.
Palate
A lush, full-bodied palate with velvety texture and a kiss of peat smoke. Rich vanilla, caramel and honey mingle with oak and dark chocolate, while citrus zest and green herbs lift the sweetness. The Hakushu influence adds a bright, smoky edge, finishing with warm spice, charcoal notes and a lingering, refined sweetness.
Finish
Long, smoky finish that lingers with ember-soft malt sweetness, a touch of vanilla and oak, and a warming peat-tinted glow. Subtle herbal notes drift as the smoke fades, leaving a polished, refined warmth.
