A blended Japanese whisky produced by Sasanokawa Shuzo at the Asaka distillery, Yamazakura is matured in oak and bottled at 40% ABV. The blend combines malt and grain whiskies, and the name Yamazakura refers to the mountain cherry blossom, a traditional Japanese symbol.

Oak maturation brings gentle vanilla sweetness, light orchard fruit and soft cereal notes, creating a smooth, balanced and approachable style. Clean and easy-drinking, it works well neat, over ice or in highballs.

Yamazakura is the whisky name used by Sasanokawa Shuzo in Koriyama, Fukushima. The company’s roots go back to a sake-brewing history that began in 1710, with the business established in Koriyama in 1765, and it obtained a whisky licence in 1946. The name "Yamazakura" combines the Japanese words "Yama" (mountain) and "Sakura" (cherry blossom).
