Colour

A rich, deep amber with copper-gold highlights and mahogany depth, a warm, sun-kissed glow.

Nose

Rich apples unfurl beneath a drift of peat smoke, brightened by floral and fragrant notes. Subtle dried fruit aromas mingle with hints of resinous spice, adding quiet complexity.

Palate

Bold peat smoke mingles with crisp apples, while woody notes emerge, finishing with a subtle nutty depth.

Finish

Peaty and nutty, the finish lingers with toasted almonds and walnuts, carried by a gentle whisper of wood that threads into a warm, refined finale.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
