The Macallan Speymalt Single Malt Scotch Whisky 25 Year Old · 1975 Vintage
Out of stock
Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, burnished amber with sunlit copper highlights and a subtle mahogany warmth at the rim.
Nose
Opulent sherry aroma, with a rich lattice of dried fruit—raisin, fig, and sultana—layered over polished oak. Orange zest and toffee mingle with vanilla, cocoa and a whisper of spice (cinnamon, clove), while hints of leather and almond marzipan lend aged elegance. A refined, seductive depth hints at decades in oak.
Palate
Velvety and deeply textured, the palate unfurls with dried plum, fig and orange zest, layered over rich toffee and dark chocolate. Spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—weave through sherried oak, delivering a warm, resinous sweetness. Silky fruit carries to a long, refined finish of oak, cocoa, and a whisper of leather.
Finish
Long and elegant, the finish settles into a silky thread of dried fruit and orange peel, wrapped in toffee and spice. Subtle sherry-derived richness lingers with toasted oak, cocoa and a whisper of leather, leaving a warm, persistent glow.
