The Macallan Speymalt Single Malt Scotch Whisky 29 Year Old · 1974 Vintage
Out of stock
Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich copper-gold with a deep amber core and mahogany-brown edges, glowing with sunlit warmth.
Nose
Opulent sherry and mature oak mingle on the nose, with figs and raisins, orange zest and caramelized toffee. Vanilla sweetness threads through cinnamon and clove, while a subtle leather note and dark chocolate hints linger, all wrapped in polished, age-softened oak.
Palate
Silky and richly sherried, this Speymalt from Macallan seduces with a core of dried fig, raisin and orange zest, cloaked in polished oak. Velvet toffee and dark chocolate ripple through, while warm spices—cinnamon, nutmeg and clove—add depth. The finish is long, elegant and slightly waxy, with a refined oak dryness that lingers.
Finish
Long, luxurious and refined, the finish unfolds with warm oak and a delicate sherry sweetness. Dried figs and raisins coat the palate, while orange zest and layered spice rise slowly, leaving a silky cocoa-and-wood fade that lingers with elegant complexity.
