Deep amber with luxurious mahogany hues and a coppery glow.

Nose

Opulent sherry-forward aroma: sun-dried figs and raisins over a bed of orange peel, toffee and dark chocolate. Spices—cinnamon and clove—linger with maple-vanilla oak, plus subtle almond, leather, and antique tobacco. Rich, velvety, and sensuously layered, this Macallan whispers its single-cask pedigree.

Palate

Full-bodied and sherried, the palate unfolds with fig and raisin, plum and orange zest, shaded by dark toffee and chocolate. Spiced with cinnamon and clove, it rests on a velvety oak frame, warming with cask-strength heat. Long and refined, the finish lingers with fruit, spice and polished wood.

Finish

Silky and enduring, the finish unfolds with dark fruit, fig and raisin, and a thread of chocolate and orange zest, complemented by gentle spice. It lingers with warm oak and a subtle sherry sweetness, fading to a refined, cocoa-tinted dryness.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
