Colour

Rich amber with sunlit honey-gold tones and subtle coppery highlights.

Nose

Creamy vanilla and toffee lead the nose, layered with warm sherry-oak. Hints of honeyed citrus, orange zest and dried fruit drift through, joined by cinnamon and a touch of nutmeg. A plush, elegant perfume with subtle cocoa and Macallan’s signature balance of sweetness and spice.

Palate

Silky, creamy vanilla and toffee open the palate, with dried orange zest and raisin from sherry-influenced oak. Cinnamon and nutmeg mid-palate weave through polished oak, finishing with cocoa notes and a warm, lingering sweetness.

Finish

Long, polished finish where creamy vanilla and oak spice mingle with dried fruit and toffee. A bright hint of orange zest rises, then a warm, refined sweetness lingers, leaving a velvety, lasting glow.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
