The 1700 Series from The Macallan is a range of Single Malts for those who demand and appreciate the finest in life. The whiskies, hand selected at the peak of maturity by The Macallan Whisky Maker, are both rich in colour and complex in flavour.

Nosing & Tasting Notes:

This whisky is rich amber in colour with a sumptuous aroma of soft fruit, sweet vanilla and spicy ginger. On the palate rich fruit mingles with oak wood vanilla and spiced orange providing a beautiful long finish of sweet citrus and oak.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
