Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery sheen and a whisper of mahogany.
Nose
An indulgent sweetness blooms on the nose: demerara sugar and treacle mingle with bright orange rind and a smooth veil of milk chocolate, inviting and layered.
Palate
Oil-coated, mouth-filling palate with coastal notes and dunnage warehouse character. Lightly peated, it is less sweet on the palate than the nose, revealing a dry, savory core balanced by oaky tannins.
Finish
Long, luxurious and richly drying, the finish emphasizes dried fruits from port and sherry influence. Raisins linger, edged by roasted coffee beans, with a final, characteristic note of bung cloth that seals an old-style Springbank in memory.
