The 2019 release of the always excellent Springbank 21 year old. This years release sees a maturation in both Port and Rum barrels (45% Port & 55% Rum)! A release of just 3600 bottles, this is bottled at 46% abv.
The nose has a delightful fruitiness with watermelon, strawberry laces, brambles and blueberries, followed by crushed vanilla pods and glazed cherries.
The palate shows chocolate covered oranges and caramel shortcake! Deliciously full bodied with tropical fruit squash, gingerbread and dried mango.
The finish is oily and full of sea salt and fruit. Lemon sherbet, whipped cream, apple peel and salted pretzels complete this beautiful dram.
